Co-operative Education - Student Info.

What is Co-op?
 • Work-Based Learning Experience
 Combination of Theory and Practical Application
 Academic coursework that provides "real world" experience

Why should students participate?
 • Gives you a competitive edge in the job market
 • Provides career-related work experience
 • Builds a network for future employment
 • Allows you to test your chosen career
 • Clarifies career goals and pathways
 • Provides the opportunity to relate classroom learning to the "real world"

To begin a Co-op experience, students must have:
 • Earned at least 15 college-level credits earned at Highline
 • A GPA of 2.0 or greater
 • A plan to identify where you will intern and who will be your faculty advisor.
 • A current resume
 • A copy of the Student Co-op Paperwork, sometimes referred to as the "Yellow Packet."
