Communication in Healthcare II
Learn the soft skills needed in the healthcare
workplace!
This class is just for Welcome
Back participants. All students in this class have a
healthcare
background.
Winter Quarter Starting the week of
January 4th, 2010
Students may enter the class at
any time during the quarter.
Offered Tuesday and
Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m. -
8:30 p.m.

strategies for building medical vocabulary

ways to successfully communicate with
co-workers, patients and supervisors

policies and procedures in U.S. healthcare

standards of professionalism in healthcare

job search and interviewing skills

computer skills for medical settings

and more!
Practice speaking, reading, writing, listening,
computer skills and pronunciation specific to the healthcare
workplace. Visit other medical training classes on campus. Hear
guest speakers from Washington State healthcare providers.
This class is only for Welcome Back participants, trained in
healthcare in home country.

Twice a month. Come when you can

- Start studying for the NCLEX PN or RN test.
- Get free NCLEX study materials.
- Meet other nurses working to get their RN and LPN
licenses in Washington state.
- Learn about nursing in
the U.S. from group facilitator Mohinder 'Mo' Randhawa, RN, a nurse at Group
Health for over 20 years.

Pronunciation Lab
for Healthcare Professionals
Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Building 30, room 212. A lab assistant will
be there to help you with the software.

works, phrases, and sentences for healthcare jobs.

Record your own voice and compare to the
voice on the software.

This lab will continue through the year with
more drop-in hours.
