About Puget Sound Welcome Back Center
Puget Sound Welcome Back Center
is a project of Highline Community College and our sponsors:
The Washington State
Board for Community and Technical Colleges and
BuRSST for Prosperity.
Partners include Renton Technical College and Tacoma
Community College. Without the support of our sponsors and
partners, this important work would not be possible.
Puget Sound Welcome Back Center,
a member of the national
Welcome Back Initiative, will
offer counseling and educational programs to internationally
trained health professionals currently residing in
Washington state so that they may re-enter their profession
in the U.S. This includes assistance in orientation,
navigating the licensing process and support to work in the
U.S. health care system.
Puget Sound Welcome Back Center
was developed to assist internationally trained health
professionals re-enter the healthcare workforce while at the same time provide
linguistically and culturally competent healthcare
professionals.
As
Washington becomes one the most diverse states in the
Nation, the Puget Sound
Welcome Back Center
is very excited about the opportunity to work with its
refugee and immigrant communities, improve their income
potential, and build on their many
assets.
