Our Staff
Hello!
I am honored to become a new member of the Transition Center.
Although I have only been here a short time, I feel that this
is an adventure and a beginning of a bright new life. I am excited
to learn from my peers and the community here at Highline.
My professional background
primarily is in Human Resources, also Desktop Publishing and Office
Administration. I enjoy helping people in any way that I can.
My mother is Norwegian, my father is English and French, so I
consider myself simply European. My favorite hobby is cooking and
all that evolves around cooking from recipes, traditions,
socializing and of course, eating.
I love to watch people as they try the first taste of one of
my recipes. I enjoy
cooking dishes from around the world and find it is a gateway to
understanding diverse cultures.
My dream is to travel the world, exploring with all five
senses and experience what an amazing world we have the opportunity
to live in.
Hello! I have lived in the Pacific Northwest
nearly all my life, with a recent brief stint in southern
California… and what a delight to return to the area I consider my
home! I was raised on a
Quarter Horse ranch in Oregon, and consider farming and ranching to
be an essential part of who I am.
In addition I have a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with
much of my working experience serving our senior population in one
form or another. I enjoy
volunteering, participating in and appreciating a variety of arts
and crafts, and I love to read.
I am delighted to be a part of Highline Community College at
this time, and hope to become an integral part of the Transition
Referral and Resource Center.

Hi,
there! I was born and raised in Washington State; I am the daughter
of a German-born mother and an American soldier. Early exposure to
both cultures, along with the Chippewa Native American culture, have
given me a unique appreciation and respect for the diversity of
human ethnicity and experience. I have worked at Highline Community
College for seven years and very much appreciate and enjoy the
bountiful diversity we enjoy in our community. As a part of the
Transition Center team, I look forward to walking alongside students
as they aspire to reach their educational goals. Thank you and I
look forward to working with you in the Center!

Hello! I am thrilled to be apart of the Transition
Center. It is such a joy f or
me to work with students from around the world, and to experience
the unique perspectives each student brings with them. As a refugee
from Cambodia, I have been extremely blessed with many opportunities
given to me and thus, I like to contribute to the growth,
challenges, and learning experiences of our immigrant, refugee, and
English as a Second Language Learners. I enjoy discovering hidden
places such as: restaurants, hiking trails, off the beaten roads
etc… sampling different ethnic foods, and photographing nature at
its purest form.

Aloha!
I was born and raised on Oahu, HI. My father was an immigrant from
the Philippines to the Hawaiian Islands and came to work in the
pineapple and sugar cane fields in the 1930’s. My mother (also from
the Philippines) came to the islands in the 1970’s. Through the
experiences of being the daughter of immigrants who was born and
raised in the United States and many other similar experiences
related to this, I have been able to learn more about the journeys
that people take to make a better life for themselves and their
families in the United States. I have been at Highline Community
College for eleven years and continue to find this place a wonderful
and innovative place to work. I have taught in the Speech
Communication department and am now the interim Dean for Transfer
and Pre-College Education. I am hopeful and feel renewed to know
that the Transition Referral and Resource Center will be a place
that will help in making the educational journey a little better for
all who enter. Thank you for reading and welcome!
