Technical Services Department
The Library's Technical Services Department supports the educational mission of
Highline Community College by providing prompt and efficient acquisition,
cataloging and automation services.
The department acquires and processes library materials, manages the Library's
automated public access catalog and maintains Highline Community College's
Government Documents depository.
Technical Services Staff Personal Web Pages
The library acquires materials in many formats, which may include
books,
videos, CD's, periodicals, and pamphlets to support classes at the
college.
If you are a member of the college faculty or staff you may want to have current periodicals routed to you. You may view a list of the periodicals available in the library. Please note that some of the titles are not current, but are closed holdings.
The Technical Services staff catalogs materials using the Dewey Decimal System.
As a Federal Depository Library, we receive many publications issued by
agencies of the U.S. Government. These publications, which may include
books, CD-ROMs, Internet sites, maps, posters, pamphlets, and periodicals,
contain information on careers, business opportunities,
health,
research, and many other subjects.
Federal Government publications in this collection are arranged by the
Superintendent of Documents
(SuDoc) classification number. Publications are
grouped together by issuing agency.
