The Assessment Coordinator role was created to serve as a connection between SOCC Representatives (two members from each Division) and Instructional Departments.
 

Specific Responsibilities

• Assist the college in moving assessment to a higher, more substantial level by working with his/her department’s assessment needs, both student learning outcomes, department objectives, and college wide outcomes;

• Guide, with the support of the SOCC and Gateway Faculty member, his/her department in an assessment program that is reasonable, doable, and sustainable;

• Attend quarterly meetings and/or workshops on assessment (1-2 per quarter);

• Collect and collate assessment results from participating faculty in their department;

• Submit a brief 1-2 page report to the Deans of Instruction documenting the department’s assessment efforts. (A sample from speech can be found here.) The reports will be compiled and used for the College’s accreditation documentation.
