Faculty Senate Minutes

April 20, 2005

Submitted by:  Dee Skinner

Attending:  Phil Droke, Ruth Frickle, Glen Avantaggio, Bryan Stumpf, Ron Sabado, Katie Gulliford, Dee Skinner, Igor Glozman, Patricia Haggerty for Gloria Rose Koepping, Jeff Wagnitz, John Lindsay, Ruth Windhover.

Meeting started at 3:10 p.m. in conference room 411.

The topic on the agenda was discussion of the AA degree requirement as listed in the catalog.  The last page list of science departments does not show “physics” and it was agreed that the list should include “physics.”

The language of the AA degree requirements for the catalog was acceptable.

It was moved and seconded that  “General Science” and its listed courses be included with the other science departments.  Unless the science department/science division objects, the courses for General Science are acceptable for science distribution.  The Sci 291 courses will be only electives.

Ruth Frickle, Igor Glozman, and Ron Sabado will begin the process of identifying those positions on the Senate and committees that will need filling.  A list of open positions will be sent to the Senate members by this group so we all can work on nominations.

Having no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:20 p.m.
