The meeting was called to order at 3:02 and the minutes of the meeting of April 4, 2007 were approved.

Per Jeff Wagnitz, a process of distributing CAFs for cross-divisional courses has been established by a working group and approved by Instructional Cabinet.

The next agenda item was the status of the new Student Rights and Responsibilities Code.  Glen summarized his letter to Toni Castro in which he communicated the Senate’s position that Academic Honesty should be a separate category.  Helen Burn communicated Eric Baer’s concern about the use of specific words in the code which are either limiting or confusing (e.g. the use of the word “intentional” in reference to cheating or plagiarism).

There was brief discussion about section 30.1 which attempts to deal with off-campus behavior which conflicts with the college’s expectations of students.

The mid-term WI change is currently with the Policy Development Council and following that will go to Instructional Cabinet.

There was no new business.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:17 p.m.
