1.      Jeff Wagnitz discussed with the members of the senate the new Early College program which will begin in Fall quarter, 2004.  There is room for 60 eleventh graders who will study at our Federal Way campus center.  This program is funded in part by grant monies from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as well as a Foundation grant.  There are now brochures explaining the program.  Students have  to take the Compass test as part of the admission criteria.  There will be an on site director and students will have intense relationships with teaching faculty.  Upon graduation, the students will receive an AA degree.  The program will be competitive and will have 180 students, total enrolled in the program.

There being no further business before the program, Faculty Senate is adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,                  Judy Johnson-Wise, Secretary
