Agenda:
1.
New Degree: reported on by

There
is a new degree, A.A.S.T, Associate in Applied Science and Technology which is a
professional technical degree with 15 general educational transfer credits. Students can choose to achieve either an
AAS or an AAST.
2.
A.A. – option B: Faculty
Senate voted on A.A., option B but it was not included in the school catalogue
3.
New Policies: Several
general policies were sent to the faculty senate, all having to do with
accreditation. The senate is to
give feedback on these policies which include policies on the process for the
development of new policies and the drug free college policy.
4.
Grading Guidelines: The
catalogue guidelines will require a faculty forum for a full discussion of this
issue. Senate members offered
several suggestions for discussion methodologies, including a meeting in
Building 2 on Faculty professional day where interested faculty could gather for
a full discussion.
5.
Faculty Senate agenda for the year 2002/2003:
There was discussion of the several topics requiring discussion during
the coming academic year,
including proposed policy changes with a requested two week turn around time for
final action, as requested by the college president and a proposed policy on
naming college assets such as naming a college building.
6.
Faculty Senate meetings will continue to be the first and third
Wednesdays of each month with the first official meeting on Wednesday, October
2, 3 to 4PM.
