Option B Information Sheet (from Gwen)

 Continued Discussion on Option B -

 ¨       Do we want an Option B with no control?
¨       Seventeen students used Option B last year - all from science.
¨       Puts a lot of responsibility on faculty advisors.
¨       Need to sort this out before accreditation visit.
¨       Need a more descriptive name, set of minimum requirements, and a clear catalog description.
¨       Will adding a math requirement pose a barrier?
¨       Many students get into it by mistake.
¨       Keep in mind students may change their minds about their degree choice, so some requirement like Writ 101 or math would be helpful for them.
¨       Option B is below the radar for most students and if we give it a higher profile, we may have more students who want to do it.
¨       Up to the integrity of the advisor.
¨       Good to have on file Option B agreements for specific transfer institutions.
¨       Option B planning sheet needs to be revised.
