Faculty Senate Meeting Minutes

June 6, 2007

Senate members present:  Ruth Frickle, Glen Avantaggio, Aaron Warnock, Rolita Flores Ezeonu, Eric Baer, Phil Droke, Buzz Wheeler, Michael Armstrong, Jeff Wagnitz, and Kate Bligh

The meeting was called to order at 3:03 and the minutes of the meeting of April 19, 2007 were approved.

The first agenda item was the status of the new Student Rights and Responsibilities Code.  Glen reported that the new section on Academic Honesty looks good.  Phil will forward a copy to the members of the Senate.  The Policy Committee is meeting the week of June 11 to review and approve the changes.

Kate Bligh mentioned that a quarterly report on student disciplinary actions can be made available to the campus as a means of clarifying and reassuring the campus about discipline.

Eric Baer moved to “untable” the motion to approve Physical Anthropology as a course meeting the non-lab science credit requirements.  Both the motion to “untable” and the original motion were approved.  A brief discussion followed about when it will be available and credits be applied accordingly.

The mid-term WI change is currently with the Policy Development Council, to be discussed at the June meeting.

There was no new business.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:17 p.m.
