If cheating or
plagiarism has occurred and the student admits to it, instructors have choices how to respond.
They can:
-
require the student
to repeat the assignment
-
lower the grade on a test
or paper
- give the
student no credit for
the assignment
If the instructor
suspects cheating or plagiarism and the student denies it,
the
college's
Student Judicial Affairs administrator
will conduct an investigation. In addition to the
penalties stated above, other possible outcomes include
- the student being
placed on probation
- the student being
placed on suspension
- the student being
expelled from the school.
This becomes
part of the student's record.
