Welcome to the
Polysomnographic Technology Department website!
Highline
Community College, Edmonds Community College, Tacoma Community College
and Olympic College have developed an innovative program in
Polysomnography Technology. Polysomnographic Technology Technicians
work in state-of-the-art laboratories where they use specialized
skills to help physicians diagnose and treat sleep disorders.
Through a combination of class room/on line lecture, hands-on practice
in a laboratory setting and patient contact in a clinical practicum,
students can develop the expertise to become a professional
Polysomnography technician.
There are two options:
Certificate of Polysomnographic
Technology
The Certificate program
is designed to provide accessibility to students throughout a large
geographical area. The unique format of on-line lectures,
hands-on
lab done in segments and clinical internship arranged in the
students home location is designed to meet the needs of a wide
range of students.

Associates of Applied Science in
Polysomnographic Technology
The two year program offers the student a firm foundation in basic
respiratory therapy before focusing on polysomnographic technology.
Students attend classes on the Highline Community College campus the
first four quarters of the program. During the last three
quarters student changes learning format to on-line lectures,
hands-on labs in block units and a clinical internship.
Both options provide excellent preparation for entry in the
polysomnographic technology field!
