The mission of the Political Science Department is to educate students in all fields about the workings of government, politics and public policy on the world, national, and local levels.  The department seeks to offer the widest possible range of transferable courses to provide political science majors and non-majors with a full range of educational opportunities.  Emphasis is on developing critical thinking, research and communications skills, as well as solid basic knowledge of political science ideas and concepts.
