My lifelong passion for nursing began
because of the influence of my mother, who was a Navy nurse
during World War II. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from
Seattle Pacific University in 1986. I worked as a staff
nurse in Maternal/Newborn nursing at Swedish Medical Center
in Seattle for 15 years and then took a temporary retirement
to pursue a graduate degree. I earned my Master’s Degree in
Nursing Education from the University of Phoenix in 2007.
This is my third year as an educator at
Highline Community College.
