I began my career as a teenaged Nursing
Assistant in my community nursing home. That experience
inspired me to seek my Diploma in Nursing from Tacoma
General Hospital School of Nursing. I completed my BSN
almost 10 years later at Seattle Pacific University. I have
a Master in Nursing from University of Washington-Seattle
with a focus on Nursing Education. My 25
years of practice experience is varied. I have gone from
med-surg and critical care to ER, then Ambulatory Care and a
little bit of Labor and Delivery, to hospital discharge
planning, Critical Pathway development, and most recently
home health and hospice.
I have been at HCC in the Nursing Department for 6 years, 3
of them in the Coordinator position. I most enjoy seeing
students discover the gifts they bring to nursing.
I enjoy sailing and any other activity that takes place in
and around Puget Sound, which is, in case you didn't know
it, the center of the universe. |
