Highline Community College's Registered Nursing program
provides you with a comprehensive curriculum that includes study
in nursing theory and practice. You will gain practical
experience through supervised clinical practice in hospitals,
long-term care settings, and community health care agencies.
If you are currently licensed as a practical nurse, LPN to Registered Nursing coursework within Highline's Registered Nursing program will prepare you for a career as a registered nurse. The comprehensive curriculum includes study in nursing theory and practice, and provides practical experience through supervised clinical practice.

The program is approved by the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Graduates qualify to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
Eligibility is contigent on passing NAC tests as well as a passing background check. See criteria for crimes that would prevent licensure or certification and the procedure/application form used by the nursing commission for applicants with disqualifying crimes.
