link to HCC Home Page The mission of the Music department is to foster and maintain a curriculum that both meets the academic, performance, and experiential needs of our students - music majors and non-musicians alike - and actively enriches our academic community. The academic program meets the educational requirements of both the musician and the non-musician. It prepares the music major, and the music minor, to transfer to a baccalaureate institution at the upper division. In addition, there are imaginative, innovative, and culturally varied course offerings that provide the non-musician with viable avenues for humanistic inquiry and discourse.
