Yours truly with the women of Arandis, Namibia. My initial trip to South Africa and Namibia was in 1999 as a participant in a Fulbright-Hays Grant. I expanded my knowledge and understanding of economics, politics, educational systems and culture of South Africa and Namibia. An outcome of this study and travel was the development of curriculum modules on the impact of culture on human relations in business, marketing and advertising. |

| I have returned to South Africa and Namibia participating in international development partnerships between Highline Community College and the Polytechnic of Namibia (PON) and Cape Technikon in Cape Town, South Africa through the Association Liaison Office for University Cooperation in Development and the U.S. Agency for International Development. Through a grant, the Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) was established at the PON in order to foster the inclusion of historically disadvantaged Namibians in both the public and private sectors. At both institutions, I have worked collaboratively on two grants, one focusing on teaching entrepreneurship across the curriculum and a second designed to study retention of engineering students. | ||
