(MT) Overview
Enroll in Highline Community College’s Medical Transcriptionist
certificate program and you will receive the training and knowledge
you need to transcribe medical dictation for physicians. This highly
specialized field requires use of computer technology and
transcription equipment to listen to recordings by physicians and
other healthcare professionals dictating a variety of medical
reports. These include emergency room visits, diagnostic imaging
studies, operations, chart reviews and final summaries.
In this challenging program you will translate
medical terminology and abbreviations into their expanded forms.
Transcribed reports are edited and returned to the dictator for
review, signature or correction in either printed or electronic form.
