Mike Fourtner

A Day In The Life...

Mike says, “ I’m going to describe to everyone exactly what it’s like and what it takes to be an Alaskan Crab Fisherman. People always ask me what a typical day consists of and I will definitely dismiss this myth and make it known that on a crab boat, there is NO such thing as a typical day! I remember it like it was yesterday! July 5, 1990, my very first trip on a commercial fishing boat! In September of 1998, I got a job on the Time Bandit as the Bait Boy for the upcoming crab season. Ten years later, and a few cracked ribs and sore muscles later, I’m still on the Time Bandit loving what I do for a living! ”
