King
County Wastewater Treatment Division protects public health and the
environment by treating the wastewater from 1.3 million people in the
Puget Sound region. We treat wastewater from Pierce, King and Snohomish
counties over 420 square miles. King County operates the two largest
treatment plants in the state and is responsible for the monitoring and
assessment of Puget Sound health form Vashon Island to Whidbey Island.
This presentation gives an overview of the system, monitoring activities
and the history of keeping the region's water bodies clean.
