Upgrades
Endeavor typically releases a new version of the software each year.
ORCA usually upgrades within three-six months after the release date.
December 13-15, 2006
Version 6 Upgrade
ORCA is scheduled to upgrade to Voyager with Unicode on December
13th-15th.
December 19-20, 2005
Version 5, and Unicode Conversion
ORCA is scheduled to upgrade to Voyager with Unicode on December 19th and 20th. Along with with upgrade our database data will be
converted into the Unicode format and a Oracle will be upgraded.
December 3, 2004
Unicode Upgrade Postponed!
The upgrade which was scheduled for December 28th and 29th has been
postponed until a later date.
November 8, 2004
Unicode Upgrade Scheduled
ORCA is scheduled to upgrade to Voyager with Unicode on December 28th and 29th.
Here is what to expect on December 28th/29th:
- The system will be offline during that time period. There will be no access to the Voyager server during this time. Stay out of ALL of the Voyager modules - even the catalog!
- New Voyager software will have to be installed on your workstation.
- Since the server will be unavailable please us the backup links to the research databases.
There is a meeting at Everett Community College on December 9th from
9:00 - 4:00 to review the upgrade process and answer questions. The ORCA System Administrator will distribute
an agenda. Additionally, there will be a WebVoyage configuration meeting on December 13th (also at
Everett).
ORCA is working with Endeavor to set up the web preview server
for each school so we can prepare our WebVoyage config files in advance of the
actual upgrade (like we did for the last upgrade). Try it out here:
