Installing Voyager
This software is to be installed on workstations
that have been authorized by the Voyager System Administrator.
Installation of this software will overwrite the settings and preferences that you’ve made
in the Voyager modules! Make screen prints of your settings before proceeding!

Defaults, Preferences, and Workflows
- Cataloging: Preferences
- Circulation: Session Preferences
- Reporter: Preferences
- Also, if you have made changes to any of the ad hoc reports that are located in
C:\Voyager\Access
Reports\Reports.mdb your changes will be overwritten and lost. Make backups
of this file if you have changed any of the queries or reports in it.
- Use Windows Explorer to rename the
"C:\Voyager"
folder to "C:\VoyagerOld"
- The installation program is kept on a network share at:
\\general\pcapps\ICCApps\Voyager7. A copy is also available on the web at: VoyagerInstall.exe. Save it on your computer
- make note of where you saved it.
- Run the program while logged on to the PC with 'administrator' privileges.
Note: The program MUST be installed while logged in with 'administrator'
privileges. Also, all users MUST be given 'administrator' privileges to the
"c:\voyager" folder.
Please leave the default directory for the new files as "c:\voyager".
Choose "Complete"
installation.
- Run either StaffChanges.exe, or
Training.exe depending on your use of Voyager. Theses programs
are self-extracting files that install the configuration files that will allow the Voyager software to connect to the correct
database on the server:
- For Staff computers running Voyager in the Library, ICC, or Health Occupations lab run this program:
StaffChanges.exe
Please leave the default directory for the new files as "c:\ and click on the "Unzip" button.
This will install the configuration files that set up the Voyager client to
access the Library Database.
- For Training Purposes on computers in 25-122 or for staff and
students being trained on how to use Voyager run this program:
Training.exe.
Please leave the default directory for the new files as "c:\ " and click on the "Unzip" button.
This will install the configuration files that set up the Voyager client to
access the Training Database.
Note: To use Voyager from off-campus you must first log into the campus
VPN.
