On-line Quiz #2 This week brings our second Quiz. The Quiz will cover all week 3 and week 4 material which includes the following chapters: Chapter 4: Forces Between Particles Chapter 5: Chemical Reactions Chapter 6: States of Matter
You have exactly 1 hour to complete the quiz. Please find a quiet location and try to avoid interruptions. You should have paper, calculator and a periodic table with you before beginning the quiz. The quiz will be available for you to take at any convenient time during the time frame listed below in red. However, once you start the quiz you must complete it within one hour. The Quiz will be posted between Monday, July 21st at 11:59 pm and Thursday, July 24th at 11:59 pm.
Week 5 Unit After you complete the Quiz, we will move on to thinking about the chemistry that occurs in water (aqueous solutions). Unit 7 will introduce the foundational ideas for being successful when solving solution chemistry problems. We will also focus on reversible chemical reactions and the important concept of Equilibrium. Let's get started! Unit 7: Solutions Unit 8: Reaction Rates and Equilibrium
Week 5 Discussion
Discussion Topic a. Draw an atomic level picture of NaCl dissolved in H2O and then describe in words what your picture looks like. Be sure to think about the initial solid state structure of this salt and the process it goes through to become an aqueous salt solution. b. Discuss with the group how you would prepare 100.0 mL of 3.0 M NaCl. Be sure to clearly explain the process.
