MED A 110 Research Project Assignment -- (Grading Rubric below)

The report is to be in report form, contain a cover sheet, be no more than two pages in length and be placed in a binder before turning in.  Please include a bibliography with your report, listing all sources of information.  This assignment is worth 100 points and will be graded according to the attached Rubric.

·         Describe what you learned about your learning style and report how this knowledge will be applied during your course of study at Highline Community College and in your professional career.

·         Now that you are enrolled in the Medical Assistant Department, let’s explore your career further by comparing and contrasting your career choice with two other allied health professions. (You may choose the two other allied health professions to compare.)  List the two allied health professions you have selected.  Respond to the following for each allied health profession selected, including your career (Medical Assistant or Medical Transcriptionist).  The Internet may prove to be a useful resource for this information.

o   List the educational requirements for each of these professions

o   Identify the tasks each profession is expected to perform on the job

o   List the types of facilities in which these professions would seek employment

o   Compare salary ranges among the three career options

o   List opportunities available for career advancement in each of these professions
