Connect to your web - Dreamweaver/Mac
Update:
During July of 2009, we experienced an operational problem on
Flightline. If your website it located on that server, you must
contact the Help Desk to request that
permissions on your web site be reset.
Site Definition for your personal site
When you first begin creating a web site in Dreamweaver, you'll need
to configure the settings for that site. After this first setup,
Dreamweaver will automatically open with this site ready to be used.
- Go to the Sites menu and select Manage Sites...
- Click the New button and select New Site from the menu that
appears.
- Click on the Advanced tab at the top of the window.
- Enter a short, easy to remember name for the site (this is never
made public)
- Click on the folder icon to the right of the box labeled "Local
Root Folder"
- Select the folder (on your computer) where the template files
are located. If you are not using a template, select the folder
where you will be storing your web files.
- Click the "Remote Info" category on the left side of the window.
- Under Access:, select FTP
- Enter the following information (see fig. 1)
- FTP Host: flightline.highline.edu
- Host Directory: <leave blank>
- Login: Type "ic\Your Username". For example: ic\juser.
- Password: Your IC Password (This is the same password you
use to access labs, voting, and entry codes.
See IC Help for details.)
- Click the "Test" button. If the test fails, write down the error
message and contact IC Help (ichelp@highline.edu).
- Click OK

Site Definition for a different site
If you are defining a site other than your personal site, such as a
department site on which you author, follow the example shown in the
figure (fig. 2) below. The illustration example is of a site other than
a faculty site on the Flightline
server.
