Introduction to Angel
What is Angel?
Angel is Highline's Learning or Course Management System (LMS/CMS). It provides simple access to tools that can be used to teach on the web. Things you can do with an LMS include:
- Posting handouts and readings
- Reading quizzes
- Online surveys
- Discussion boards
- Assignments
- Online gradebook
See this video introduction to Angel for more!
Faculty and students access Angel through any Internet connected computer at http://angel.highline.edu. Students use their myHCC information to log in.
Do I have to teach online to use Angel?
Nope. Angel is used to enhance face-to-face courses in addition to online and hybrid courses. In a face-to-face course, you might use it to post handouts for students who missed class, conduct reading comprehension quizzes, collect and grade papers electronically, and much more.
How do I get started?
Contact Instructional Design for a 90-minute instructor orientation. The orientation covers how to get your classes and students started in Angel and includes an overview of the features and a consultation on how to best use it in your classes. From there, our staff will continue to meet with you as needed to help you make the most of Angel.
