Instructional Computing Federal Work-Study Positions
Federal Work-Study jobs with Instructional Computing are open to students who have successfully completed 15 credits college level classes including Writing 101. These jobs focus on strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work with a wide range of users. This position performs receptionist duties at the Reference Desk managing help desk phone calls, answering questions, taking messages, and transferring calls as well as receiving and documenting support/alerts calls. This position assists in other duties as needed including but not limited to cleaning computer screens and mice, refilling printer paper, and surplusing old equipment. A moderate amount of physical agility and manual dexterity is required for pick up and delivery of computer equipment. This position is responsible to represent Highline Community College in a professional manner and assists in maintaining an environment conducive for to students achieve their educational goals.
Instructional Computing State Work-Study Positions
State Work-Study jobs with Instructional Computing are open to students who have successfully completed 15 credits college level classes including Writing 101, pursuing education in computer technology, and can demonstrate an adequate level of computer competency. These jobs focus on strong computer technology knowledge as well as verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of users. The primary function is to provide user support to students, faculty and/or staff in the day-to-day operations of local area network workstations, hardware repair, software installations, and configurations. This position performs receptionist duties at the Reference Desk managing help desk phone calls, answering questions, taking messages, and transferring the caller to the correct party as well as receiving and documenting support/alerts calls. This position assists in other duties as needed and a moderate amount of physical agility and manual dexterity is required for pick up and delivery of computer equipment. This position is responsible to represent Highline Community College in a professional manner and assists in maintaining an environment conducive for to students achieve their educational goals.

How Do I Apply For Work-Study?
To be eligible for either federal or state work-study you must be enrolled in at least 6 credits. Students hired may work no more that 19 hours per week when school is in session, during breaks they can work up to 40 hours per week. The first step is to apply for financial aid.
