PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS OF INSTRUCTIONAL COMPUTING POLICIES
In the event of a violation of any Instructional Computing policy by a Highline Community College student, the student will be given a written warning outlining the details of the violation and the relevant IC policy or policies, mailed to their address of record. If possible, the student will also be given a verbal and/or email warning.
In the event of a serious or repeated violation by a Highline Community College student, the student will have their IC account suspended for one week. The violation will be reported to the Student Judicial Affairs office and the student may be summoned to appear before an initial disciplinary hearing in accordance with WAC 132I-120-421. This information can be found on the web at: http://www.highline.edu/stuserv/vpstudents/wac421.html. Disciplinary action may include but is not limited to suspension of a student’s user account and revocation of student rights in IC facilities for the duration of the current quarter or longer, depending on the severity of the offense.
In the event of a serious or repeated violation on the part of persons other than Highline Community College students, a written warning from the Dean of Instructional Resources will be issued. The warning may include temporary or permanent revocation of all Instructional Computing privileges and/or a ban by the Dean of Instructional Resources and the campus Office of Security and Safety from use of any Instructional Computing facilities.
