REQUESTING NEW WEB SITES OR SITE CHANGES ON FLIGHTLINE
Requests for new Instruction webs on Flightline, or requests for changes in those authorized to edit Instruction webs on Flightline, must be made through the Instruction Web Manager. The current Web Manager is Carrie Jolicoeur. The request must be approved by the Web Manager, and will either be acted on by the Web Manager, or sent on to Instructional Computing staff for completion.
Requests for additions or changes to division or department webs (including permission changes) must come from the Division Chair or Department Coordinator. Requests for class-related sites must come from the instructor or Department Coordinator. Requests for individual staff sites must come from that individual.
You will need to provide the following information:
- Web name. If requesting a new web, the web name should be something short, clever, and memorable for students and the public (like engineer or engr142, or something like that).
- Web author(s). This is the person (or people) that will have permission to edit the web site.
- Public or protected. A public web is open to everyone for viewing, and is the default. A protected web requires users to log in to view the site. Examples of webs that are often protected are online course sites or sites for tenure review committees.
- If protected, who are the authorized users? If the users are faculty or staff, please provide the names. If the users are students, please provide the item number of the course associated with the site.
You will be sent a confirmation from the Web Manager when the work is complete.
If you are an instructor wanting
to set up student websites, please send your request directly to ichelp@highline.edu.
This request must include the item number of the class and whether
you need individual webs, group webs, or both, and the group names
and members if required.
If you have any further questions, please contact the Instruction Web Manager, Carrie Jolicoeur at cjolicoe@highline.edu or x3711.
