  1. How do I get into BlackBoard?

    To use BlackBoard, your instructor has to have a class web site set up. Check with your instructor to be sure your class is using BlackBoard. If you already know that your class is using BlackBoard, point your browser to http://blackboard.highline.edu. Log in using your BlackBoard Username and Password. See the Instructional Computing Password Page for more information.

  2. What is my Password? (or I forgot my password, what do I do?)

    Please note that usernames and passwords may not be in the system for up to one business day after you've registered.

    Check the Instructional Computing Password Page and make sure you are typing in the correct Username and Password. If you type those in and are unable to get in, click on the link labeled "Forgot your password?" on the BlackBoard login page. This will take you to a form that will e-mail you a new password for the system.

  3. What is BlackBoard?

    BlackBoard is an on-line course management system. If your instructor has created a course web site using the system, it will give you access to a variety of on-line learning tools. Instructors use different features of the system, so check with your instructor for specifics. To learn how to use features of BlackBoard, see the Blackboard Student User Guide (712MB Adobe Acrobat document).

  4. How can I remove old courses from my Blackboard home page?

    Old courses remain on the server for at least a quarter after the class has ended before they are archived and removed. If you would like to remove classes from the list on your Blackboard home page before they are archived, please follow the instructions in this video tutorial:

  5. Where can I get the Adobe Acrobat Reader?

    The Adobe Acrobat Reader is required for viewing some documents on this web site, including the BlackBoard manuals. If it is not already installed on your computer, you will need to download the reader from the Adobe Web Site. This link will take you to that web site:

  6. Who do I call for help?

    For help with BlackBoard or with the Active Content, follow the steps below.

    1. Review the BlackBoard Help web site, and this list of Frequently Asked Questions.

    2. Check the Blackboard Support/Knowledgebase to see if your question has been asked (and answered) before. You'll be asked to register to use this, but there is no charge.

    3. Contact the Highline Instructional Computing Help Desk.
