A career in human services
Human Services program graduates work in
clinics, hospitals, shelters and group homes performing a wide
variety of tasks including assessing client needs, organizing and
leading group activities. They work with clients, family members and
healthcare providers to maximize client well-being. Graduates work
in roles such as mental health aide, social work assistant, life
skills counselor, case management aide and community outreach
worker.
Human services job responsibilities
The specific job responsibilities may vary to include case
management, social work, counseling, advocacy and community
organizing. Human services workers may provide emotional support,
help clients establish program eligibility and arrange for client
transportation.
