About the Human Services Department

 

Choose the Human Services program that is right for your career goals.

Associate of Applied Science

Graduates will learn specific job skills as well as communication skills, computational skills, applied sciences, human relations and social science. The AAS can be completed in two years with full-time attendance. A Direct Transfer (AA) degree, with an emphasis in Human Services, is also an education option; see an adviser for details.

Certificate

Certificates of Completion include Youth Development Specialist, Family Support Specialist or Human Services Initial Certificate. Certificate programs emphasize preparation in specific job skills required for entry-level employment. A certificate can be completed in three to four quarters of full-time attendance.

Articulation agreements

Articulation agreements are in place at some colleges and universities to accept credits earned at Highline in the Human Services program. For more specific information contact the department coordinator.
