Associate of Applied
Science (A.A.S.) in Chemical Dependency Professional
Earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Human Services, with an
emphasis in chemical dependency. Graduates will learn specific job
skills as well as communication skills, computational skills, applied
sciences, human relations and social science. The AAS can be completed
in two years with full-time attendance.
Program Overview
Enroll in Highline Community College’s Chemical
Dependency Professional program to gain the knowledge and skills you
need for a career in chemical dependency. With coursework in
addiction, client evaluation, referral and treatment, cultural
implications, counseling, family involvement, and legal issues, you
will be prepared for any field that requires knowledge of substance
abuse.
With this program, you will earn an AAS degree in Chemical Dependency
Professional and complete the educational requirements needed to
become licensed as a chemical dependency professional in Washington
state. If you already have a degree, you can meet requirements for
your current job by taking individual chemical dependency courses.
