"How To"
Information for Students
-
A student interested in the Honors Scholar
Program needs credit from the
Honors Colloquy, Honors Seminar, and an Honors 299
interdisciplinary project, as well as a minimum of 30 hours of
honors options and/or honors courses.
-
Any college-level academic transfer course may
be enriched with a university-level Honors Option Project with
instructor permission. A course is considered college transfer if
it will be accepted by a state four-year institution.
-
An
Honors Option Contract establishing mutually acceptable goals
(between student and faculty member) must be completed with copies
going to the instructor, the student, and the honors coordinator.
(This is for your own protection. Should the faculty
member forget to give you Honors credit, the only way the Honors
Director can help you is IF she has a copy of your completed
form, complete with evaluation statement and instructor's second
signature.)
-
To enroll for an honors option a student
must be earning a minimum grade of 3.5 and maintain that grade (or
higher) for honors to be recorded on his/her transcript.
-
Students will receive transcript recognition
of the honors option courses and honors courses they complete even
if they do not elect to fulfill all of the requirements to
graduate as a Highline Honors Scholar.
