Participation in the Honors Scholar Program is
open to all students of all ages and backgrounds who have 12
credits of college-level work with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and who
are seeking to develop individual initiative, to graduate with a
3.5 GPA or better, and to transition more effectively to a
four-year school.

A total GPA of 3.5 is required for
graduation as a Highline Honors Scholar.

A 3.5 grade average is required in any
course for which the student receives honors options credit.

A 3.2 GPA or higher is required for
participation in Honors 100: Honors Seminar.
If students participate in honors classes
and/or acquire honors option credits but are unable to complete
the total requirements to graduate as an Honors Scholar, those
credits will still appear on transcripts as Honors work.
In order to graduate as a Highline Honors Scholar, students
must have a minimum of 35 honors credits.

A student who completes the Honors Scholar
Program will receive a merit tuition scholarship for the
final quarter at HCC, will be recognized at graduation,
and will receive a certificate designating him/her as an "Honors Scholar."
