Western Washington
University Honors Program strongly encourages students who have
participated in an Honors program at the community college level to
apply to Western’s Honors Program. As its space is limited, Honors
cannot guarantee admission, but the program regards prior work in an
Honors program in a very favorable light. In considering students
for admission, the program looks carefully at a combination of
elements, including grade point average, strength of curriculum,
writing, and a required letter of evaluation from an academic
counselor or instructor. The program regards students who have
established a record of achievement in an academically rigorous
curriculum, e.g., a community college Honors Program, as especially
good candidates for admission. Please visit the Honors website at
