AA Transfer Degree
The
Associate of Arts Transfer degree is designed for students who
are planning to transfer to a bachelor's degree program in Geology.
Students who follow the AA degree plan can choose from a number of
different schools and a number of different geology programs to
complete their 4-year degree.
The entry requirements for each geology program may be
specific. It is always a good idea to let the geology
advisor know if you have a particular Washington College in mind,
and your class scheduling/selection can be tailored to meet the
requirements of the transfer college. Learn more here about:

To prepare for a geology major, it is recommended that you enroll
in the following classes while attending Highline:
- Geology 101 (Intro to Physical Geology)
- At least one geology class above 200 level
- Writing 101
- Writing 105 or Writing 143
- Chemistry 151, 152, 153
- Physics 100
- Math 124
- Math 210
Important Highline Class Information
Many classes have prerequisites and are offered only once or
twice a year. Please check course prerequisites and planned
course offerings when developing your class plan. Course
pre-requisites are found in the college
catalog.
We recommend you map out your entire Highline program with a geology
advisor. Please visit geology

Graduation
You do not automatically receive a Associate of Arts degree after
completing the appropriate classes. You must apply for the
degree. Graduations applications can be found in Building 6,
near the Cashier's office. There is a fee that needs to be
paid to the Cashier as you submit the application. After you
have turned in your application, a folder with your transcript will
be sent to the department for review. Please apply for
graduation TWO QUARTERS BEFORE you intend to graduate.
