The
Associate of Science (AS) in Engineering
degree is designed for students
who are planning to transfer to a bachelor's degree program in
engineering. Students who follow the AS Engineering degree
plan choose from a number of different schools and a number of
different engineering programs to complete their bachelor's
degree.
The entry
requirements for each engineering program are very specific.
In some cases, it may be to your advantage to take some
classes at Highline, but transfer before obtaining the AS
degree. In other cases, the AS degree offers significant
advantages. Please consult an
engineering advisor.
Transferring
Highline
engineering students have completed bachelor's degrees at many
different colleges and universities. However, the majority of
our students transfer to the University of Washington (UW),
Washington State University (WSU) and Seattle University.
We provide information about transfer options to these 4-year schools on this site and
your advisor can assist you with these and others. We strongly
encourage you to set up an appointment with an
advisor early in your decision process.
Important
Highline Class Information
Many classes have
prerequisites and are offered only once or twice a year. Please
check
course prerequisites and planned
course offerings when developing a
class plan.
Course prerequisites may be found in the college
catalog. We recommend
that you map out your entire Highline program with an
advisor.
Graduation
You do not
automatically receive an Associate of Science degree after
completing the appropriate classes. You must apply for the
degree. Graduation applications can be found downstairs in
Building 6, close to the Cashier’s office. There is a fee that
needs to be paid to the Cashier as you submit the completed
form. After you have turned in your application, a folder with
your transcript will be sent to the department for review.
Please apply for graduation TWO QUARTERS BEFORE you intend to
graduate.
