for more information.
Associate of Arts Degree
(AA)
An
Associate of Arts degree
with an emphasis in Education may be your choice if you are
interested in transferring to a 4 year college to become a certified
teacher. Certified teachers work the Kindergarten through 12th
grade system.
Many
teacher certification programs have
specific pre-requisites. It is important that you identify and
communicate with the college/university that you are interested in
so you can best meet these requirements. We encourage you to consider
several options for transfer.
This
degree can be developed to meet the transfer requirements of many
four year colleges. If you plan to pursue an AA
make an appointment to see an advisor
in Highline's Education Department.
Washington State requires that students who plan to enter a teacher
certification program pass the WEST-B test.
Associate of Applied Science (AAS)
