




Richard Lorig is the Drama department's resident designer and production manager. As an instructor, he teaches Theatrical Design, Makeup and Stagecraft as well as Introduction to Drama. Rick is also a Film Appreciation instructor for the Humanities department.
Rick explored most of the facets of the theatrical experience before settling into his current career as a designer. He has performed (musicals, drama, improv), designed (costumes, scenery and lights) and directed. He attended graduate school at Arizona State University and received his MFA in Scenography. While at ASU, Rick studied performance with Lee Breuer and worked with the Institute for Studies in the Arts.
Rick is also a freelance designer whose recent work includes Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Taproot Theatre. Additionally, he has designed for Village Theater, Empty Space, Tacoma Actor's Guild, Bathhouse Theatre, Ethereal Mutt, NWAAT, Exchange Theatre, Civic Light Opera, Alice B. and Childsplay Inc. Rick served as Surface Designer for Inter*Im’s 2003 Bruce Lee Collector’s Exhibit.
