Speech 210—Interpersonal/Small Group Communication
In an effort to track student
learning outcomes with two measures at different points in time, the outcomes
were reduced and refined to reflect a more focused approach to assessment.
This resulted in reducing the SLOs from ten to six. Included below are the data
for Fall 2005.

the impact perception has on interpersonal communication;

and personal relationships;
- Define and demonstrate reflective,
analytic, empathic, and dialogic listening;
- Explain how conflict can be a
productive part of communication; and
- Explain and demonstrate the process
of “nexting”.
Measures
Journal assignments were used
to measure the student learning outcomes listed below during spring and fall of
2004. A mix of journal assignments and in-class essay exams were used in
winter 2005 (exams are noted below).
