About Me
I have been teaching for almost 15 years now.  I started by tutoring struggling science students -- most especially my older brother -- while an undergrad.  I then moved on to teaching high school speech & debate, writing and literature.  It was after one year of hell...ahem, teaching experience, that I moved to Seattle in 1999.  Once here, I continued my work for MTV.com's then-active local music website and also began work at Fantagraphics Books as an intern, editorial assistant and writer. 

Call me crazy, but I couldn't stay away from teaching.  I have been teaching in the Seattle area since 2000.  I don't teach speech anymore, but have taught writing and literature for Highline Community College since 2001.

I also have written & published four comics, and also edited/ published a comic by another artist.  I love comics, and I love visual learning and rhetoric. 

My current research & writing deal with video games & social justice.
