Raising the Temperature: A Global Climate Change Community Roundtable Date: Saturday, March 10th, 2007. 10:00am-12:30pm Location: Highline Community College, Buildings 2 and 3, Rooms 2-101 and 3-102 Click here for directions to Highline's main campus. Click here for a campus map. Description: Highline Community College is hosting a free roundtable teach-in. Participants will have time in between five speaker presentations to discuss local climate change issues with questions following presentations. Speakers: The five invited speakers reflect the diversity of challenges we may face from this environmental crisis. Screening of An Inconvenient Truth Date: Friday, February 9th, 2007, 12:00pm and 7:00pm Location: Highline Community College, Building 7. Description: Inspired by recent local events, Highline Community College hosted two free screenings of Al Gore's Oscar-winning documentary, An Inconvenient Truth. A post-film discussion led by Highline's Woody Moses (About Us), Climate Solution's Megan Dixon (Community Partners), and The Sierra Club's Jennifer Eagle (Community Partners)focused on what you can do about global warming. Action Item Handout: At the Inconvenient Truth screenings, Highline's Climate Change Group prepared a handout with ideas for people to reevaluate and take action against climate change.
