Tina Ostrander
Tina Ostrander has taught at Highline Community College since 1996. She teaches computer classes including computer programming (PHP, Java, and Visual Basic), databases (SQL and MySQL), Unix, Survey of Computing and Microsoft Office.
Prior to her teaching career, Tina worked in MIS and technical support, database administration, writing and editing, and desktop publishing. Her education includes a BA from the University of Washington in Cognitive Science (an interdisciplinary degree consisting of Computer Science, Cognitive Psychology, Linguistics and Philosophy), an MA in Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and an MS in Computer Information Technology from Regis University.
In addition to teaching, Tina does freelance Web Development and manages Highline’s Science Scholars Program. She is also involved in outreach events to local high schools, and developing curricula for the Web/Database Developer program.
