 Prerequisites
  • Keyboarding skills.
  • MATH 091 or minimum COMPASS algebra score of 47 or equivalent ASSET.
  • ENGL 091 or ENGL 098 or minimum COMPASS writing score of 65 or higher or equivalent ASSET.
  • Some classes have entry requirements not listed here.

Drafting Design AAS Learning Outcomes
  1. Demonstrate the ability to use computer-aided design applications to produce civil, mechanical and architectural drawings.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to present and analyze data quantitatively.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of drafting and engineering terminology.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to read and listen effectively and communicate effectively through writing, speech and visual means for personal, academic and career purposes.
  5. Access and evaluate print and online information relevant to the drafting design profession.
  6. Explain best practices and emerging trends and technologies in the drafting field and the need to keep current with industry changes.
  7. Demonstrate an understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
  8. Demonstrate professionalism with regard to attendance, punctuality and contribution to projects.
  9. Demonstrate the ability to work on diverse multidisciplinary teams.
  10. Create an employment portfolio including a cover letter and resume.
