Initial Short-Term Certificate                 13–16 credits

Initial Childcare Assistant

Pathways to the initial certificate of completion may include Child Development Associate (CDA), Tech-Prep articulated courses, and WAOL online courses.

EDUC 100 Introduction to Child Care

Meets the basic training outcomes for personnel in early childhood and school-age child-care centers as mandated by Washington State Legislature and outlined by the Washington State Training and Registry System [STARS].

EDUC 140 must be in an approved practicum site related to specific certificate track. One quarter prior to enrolling in EDUC 140, students must complete a Washington State Patrol background check or present evidence of current documentation.
