This list has been updated for 2008.  Check back again - there may be more!

The following seeds have been purchased and plants may be available for purchase at the plant sale--depending on what the students choose to grow. Descriptions and PHOTOS,  compliments of ParkseeDS and Nichol's Garden Nursery.

Catmint Blue Carpet

Unlike many perennials, Blue Carpet does not take a year or two to reach maturity and begin blooming. You'll get masses of bloomspikes the very first year from an early-spring sowing. The ease of an annual with the permanence of a perennial!

This year we are going to combine all of the basil into mixed pots, so everybody can enjoy the many varieties! Basil, Lime
Organic 18" lime scented plant. Great for desserts, salads, iced drinks, and cooking.
Basil, Siam Queen
Thai Basil 24" plant with purple flowers. Used a lot in southeast Asian Cuisine.
Basil, Red Rubin/Red Osmin
20" plant with uniform burgundy red leaves and pink flowers. Classic basil taste.
Basil, Napoletano Bolloso
12" Plant with 4" leaves, frilly, heavily textured, sweet fragrant and spice. Has a hint of anise.
Oregano, True Greek

A good grower to 2 feet high. Leaves and flower tops can be used for cooking and garnish - also known as Bee Plant

Sage

A 2-foot tall perennial. "Sage seems to be most flavorful when the flower bud appears before full bloom. Great for seasoning poultry dishes.

Thyme

A perennial that reaches about 18 inches. Very aromatic with tiny neat leaves and small flowers. Leaves can used in vinegar, for meat and fish, pork, veal and in soups. You can also use for tea.

Contributed by fellow Faculty and Staff:
